Is There an Age Limit?
Each student, on commencement must be a minimum of age of 18 for international students (to meet Australian Visa entry requirements) and 17 for Australian nationals. There is no upper age limit.
 
Is there a Minimum Educational Standard?
The minimum educational requirement is the completion of the Australian year 12 or equivalent standard and while no specific subjects are required a study of math’s and physics would be an advantage.
 
Do I have to pass a Medical examination?
Before commencing your Academy course you will need to have passed the Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) Class I Medical Examination. The Medical Examination is conducted by a CASA Approved Designated Aviation Medical Examiner (DAME). A full list of these examiners is available at www.casa.gov.au/avmed. For international students the CASA medical can be undertaken in your home country if there is an Approved DAME in your home country. To determine whether there is an Approved DAME in your country then please check CASA at www.casa.gov.au/avmed.
 
If I wear glasses does this mean that I will not pass the medical examination?
It is quite acceptable to wear either prescription glasses or contact lenses, and this will not cause any problems with your medical provided that your corrected vision meets the CASA requirements.
 
Is the licence I gain recognized around the world?
In Australia licenses are issued by the Civil Aviation Safety Authority, and as such are recognized by the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). Such recognition means that your Australian issued licence is recognized by all ICAO member countries.
 
Do you issue your own Certificates, Diplomas and Advanced Diplomas?
We are a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) under the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF), and National Training Information Service (NTIS) and all Certificates, Diplomas, Advanced Diplomas etc are issued under their authority. All of these qualifications are Nationally Recognized Qualifications.
 
If I already have some flying experience can I join your course?
Yes this is possible, in this instance we would need to see details of your present level of training and experience and then assess the appropriate entry point to our course. Please contact us to discuss this issue.
 
Is there any financial assistance available?

All of our courses are registered with Centrelink, for domestic students and should you meet their eligibility requirements you can receive Austudy or Youth Allowance for the duration of your course.
