Sitting in the pilot's seat1. AVIATION ENGLISH - An introduction to aviation terminology and technology.

2. GENERAL FLYING PROGRESS TEST            (GFPT) - Teaches the student the necessary skills to safely operate the aircraft so that the student is given passenger carrying privileges in the local flight training areas.

3. PRIVATE PILOT LICENCE (PPL) - Covers the navigation technique used to fly visually throughout Australia. Students move to the Cessna 172 for this training. Flights are initially conducted outside controlled airspace with an introduction to the principles of radio navigation. As confidence improves, training progresses to flights into controlled airspace such as Coolangatta, Brisbane and Maroochydore.

4. COMMERCIAL THEORY AND NAVIGATION CONSOLIDATION - Gives students an opportunity to practise their new-found skills to fly beyond the South East Queensland environs. Groups of students and an 'advisory' instructor plan flights to destinations ranging from Darwin to Great Keppel Island. The theory component incorporates all aspects of theory relevant to a commercial pilot and culminates in seven separate cyber examinations conducted by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA).

5. COMMERCIAL PILOT LICENCE (CPL) - Navigation exercises simulating commercial operations are an important feature of this block. Students use radio navigation aids and Global Positioning System (GPS) to assist visual navigation.

You may exit at this point with a Certificate IV (Commercial Pilot Licence) and pursue a career as a commercial pilot.

6. NIGHT VFR RATING (NVFR) - Extends the visual pilot's skills to include flying at night. Greater use is made of the aircraft's instruments and radio navigation. Training emphasises the hazards of "Spatial Disorientation".

7. MULTI-ENGINE COMMAND INSTRUMENT RATING (CIR) - Flying an aircraft by reference to instruments alone is possibly the most challenging stage of flying training. This block includes the initial multi-engine endorsement in a Beechcraft BE76 (Duchess). Dual simulator training is "flown" in the AST300 synthetic flight trainer.

You may exit at this point with a Diploma in Aviation (Commercial Pilot and Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating) and pursue a career as a commercial pilot.

8. AIR TRANSPORT PILOT LICENCE THEORY PASS (ATPL) - The ATPL is the highest pilot licence qualification available in Australia. This intensive course covers upper level meteorology, global navigation, jet aircraft flight planning, gas turbine theory, Boeing 767 systems and human performance subjects relevant to heavy jet operations. The exams at the end of the course is conducted by the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority (CASA) and is made up of seven separate cyber exams.

9. This marks the completion of the Advanced Diploma course with the ATPL Theory Pass (Frozen ATPL).

The Academy offers both Diploma and Advanced Diploma studies.

The Australian 69869 Diploma in Aviation (Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating ) is a twelve (12) month program which allows you to commence a career as a Commercial Pilot. It is an integrated course of both theory and practical flying training. On successful completion of this course,  you will receive your Commercial Pilots Licence and Multi Engine Command Instrument Rating. This is the first qualification required towards the issue of the Advanced Diploma.

The Australian 69868 Advanced Diploma in Aviation (Airline Pilot) is an eighteen (18) month program and takes you from initial flight training level to Air Transport Pilot Licence (Frozen)

These integrated courses of both theory and practical flying training take you from initial flight training level to completion in the most cost and time efficient manner. On successful completion of the program, along with your Diploma or Advanced Diploma, you will receive your Commercial Pilots Licence, Command Instrument Rating (Multi-Engine) and a theory pass in Air Transport Pilots Licence.

Should you wish to obtain an additional endorsement on turbo prop pressurised aircraft or an introduction to multi-crew operations, this training can be undertaken on the completion of your Course.
